Sited on a spacious suburban block on the east coast, this residence sits adjacent to the clients family and was designed as a home for aging in place. Working with a constrained budget, the design was conceived with a small footprint so that all spaces had multiple functions while still providing a strong sense of spaciousness through high ceilings and extensive natural light. Considered placement of windows and solar control allow for excellent privacy to neighbours while maintaining aspect to garden views and beyond. Cost-effective, low-maintenance and durable cladding and detailing will see the building age gracefully into the future.
