House in the Valley

Currently in progress.

Set on a sweeping southwest slope in a deep Huonville valley, this new residence balances natural integration with architectural refinement. The home’s exterior is defined by warm, vertical timber cladding, creating a grounded silhouette that harmonizes with the landscape while contrasting with the light, robust interior spaces.

Inside, carefully placed timber detailing across the ceilings and high walls establishes strong linear alignments, drawing the eye outward. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing wraps the central living areas, capturing 180-degree panoramic views of the rolling hills and bushland. Reflecting a desire for simple, minimal interiors, the design prioritises clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and a seamless visual connection between the serene, tactile indoor environment and the dramatic Tasmanian valley beyond.
